Painting in Hawaii

The Gathering - 9x12" oil on panel
It is one of my favorite beaches to paint but also one of the most difficult for me for two reasons, carting in my gear and the the glare. I get there early, so grateful they open way earlier now, to beat the noon sun. I can't paint much past 11:00 due to the glare off the sand and the water. It kills my eyes and makes mixing color difficult as well. Maybe it's my blue eyes. Not built to live near the equator. Small price to pays to hang out in a most beautiful place.
*Framed in a 2 5/8" wide traditional wood Plein Air frame in a black with black crackle finish with a touch of soft gold.
